Experience
the wind through the trees, the sounds of rushing water, a hike on a woodland
trail. Much of the Elkhart County Park and Recreation Department systems
has been left in a natural state. Our 1500 acres provides plenty of room
for picnicking, hiking, fishing or just experiencing the wonder of nature.
No matter what your favorite outdoor activity may be, Elkhart County Parks
offer something for everyone.
The
early history of Elkhart County will come to life with a visit to two
of Elkhart County's premier historical sites. Bonneyville
Mill, Indiana's oldest continuously operating grist mill, where they
still produce stone ground flour the old-fashioned way; and the Elkhart
County Historical Museum containing over 20,000 artifacts reflecting Elkhart
County's cultural heritage.
