Schedule of Events


3:00 pm –
Animal Tracks & Signs - Cottonwood Shelter

Learn about our local wildlife and their wintertime habits and diets by taking a look at what signs they leave behind. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.


3:30 pm – Sled Races (grades K-3) - Small Sledding Hill

Show off your sledding skills and speed as you race to the finish line at the bottom of the hill. Prizes will be awarded to the winning participant.


3:30 pm – Ice Fishing - Cottonwood Shelter

Discover the in's and out's of ice fishing as we take a look at basic equipment, discuss importance of location and go over other helpful hints and tips for a successful catch.


4:00 pm - Snowshoeing 101 - Cottonwood Shelter

Why snowshoe? Snowshoeing is easy to learn; it poses little risk of injury and it's a great way to exert energy during the cold winter months! Examples of snowshoes will be presented and discussed.


4:30 pm – Sled Races (grades 4-8) - Small Sledding Hill

5:00 pm - Cross Country Skiing: A Crash Course - Cottonwood Shelter

Learn the basics of cross country skiing technique, proper equipment and what to look for when purchasing skis.

Huge, Roaring Fire - Near Ox Bow Haus Shelter

Take the chill out of your bones at our warming fire!


Food - Ox Bow Haus Shelter

Delicious, homemade chili, hearty cornbread and steaming, hot cocoa will be available for purchase. All proceeds go towards future park programs and events.


Snow Games - Ox Bow Haus Shelter

All ages are invited to enjoy family, friendly snowball tosses, curling competition, snow art and more.


Birding Window - Ox Bow Haus Shelter
Take a peek at some of our active and entertaining feeder birds in action. Information on common, winter birds to Ox Bow County Park will be also available.


Silent Auction - Ox Bow Haus Shelter
Place your bid for your very own Recycled Ski Chair. All money raised goes towards future park programs and events. Bidding closes at 6:00pm.


ChillFest will take place with or without snow.
If no snow, other activities will be provided
