| The
Elkhart County Historical Museum is having an antique appraisal
day August 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Rush Memorial
Center in Bristol. Anyone having a family heirloom or a special
treasure, who would like to know its value, may take it to the museum
to discover a monetary answer.
Certified
appraisers will provide professional verbal appraisals and opinions
for $5.00 per item. There is no limit to the number of
items, but appraisals will be on a first-come-first-served basis
ending at 2:00 p.m.
The appraising will be done by Britton Knowles and
Randy Root from South Bend. Both have done programs at several locations
including various public libraries, Northern Indiana Center for
History, auctions and estates. They have been serving Michiana since
1978 and are members of the Indiana Auctioneers Association.
Each
item will be assigned a number in the order of arrival and the appraisers
will start with the first received and do as many as time permits.
The appraisals will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m., so be sure to
be on time.
The
appraisers requested if you have something unusual it would be best
if you took a photograph of the object, and send it in ahead of
time to them so that if they have to do research, they will have
information available. Send your photograph attention Britton Knowles
at ABK Auction & Appraisal Service, P.O. Box 6606, South Bend,

In
addition to having items appraised, several local antique vendors
will be on hand with both items to
display and sell.
