volunteer opportunitiesSince the Elkhart County Parks Department was founded, volunteers have been instrumental in the growth and development of our park system. As we move into the next millennium the need for volunteers to help keep operations running smoothly is sure to increase.

The Elkhart County Parks Department offers volunteers a wealth of opportunities to become involved in one of Elkhart County's greatest resource. Our volunteer program is run through The Friends of the Elkhart County Parks Inc., a

not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an opportunity for members of our community to share their skills and knowledge through volunteering within the park system.

To Become a Volunteer All You Have To Do Is:

  • Fill out an application and send it to the Elkhart County Parks Department
  • Attend volunteer orientation and workshop training sessions (when required)
  • Complete training in area of your choice (when required)
  • Follow the volunteer program policies and procedures
